Showman Farms: Conneauttee Creamery

Showman's picture

Grass-fed milk is absolutely the best! And all our special Artisan Cheeses are made from the freshest grass-fed milk right here on the farm. Our cheese-making methods are traditional and our recipes old world. We create cheese by the hard work of our hands. All our cheese is made in small batches, artisan form, with the bare minimum of main ingredients: milk, salt, rennet. We use no additives or preservatives, so our cheeses are not only better tasting, but healthier. Our goal is not to make or sell the most cheese, but to produce the best tasting, highest quality cheese.

Locavore's Prepared Foods

Carter McGary's picture

Thank you for the opportunity to share my idea with you!

As an entrepreneur and budding businessman, I'm hoping to combine my passions and strengths by starting a business that will make prepared meals (breakfasts, sack lunches, entrees and sides for dinner) that customers can take home and eat with their family (or in the case of breakfast/lunch perhaps take to work!) The large portion of each meal would be locally sourced and bent towards the healthy eater.

The 30 Mile Meal is a local food branding and promotional campaign that aims to provide a shared identity for the many farmers, specialty and value-added food producers, retail markets, food events and independently-owned eateries and bars featuring locally sourced menus in the area. The campaign will enable these stakeholders to leverage the growth of dozens of farm stands, farmers markets, farm-to-school programs and local food and urban farming initiatives in the area to build a local food economy united under the 30 Mile Meal brand.

Brian Gwin's picture

This is an early stage concept of developing an urban dairy heifer or jersey / beef cross nursery to post weaning unit in a vacant industrial facility. These animals would be targeted to populate expansion farms in NEO / W. PA. Urban jobs are a priority and many specialty crop and aquaculture projects are linking to workforce development and programs for troubled youth / adults. Why not livestock too?
